IP Group set up the IP Venture Fund, a £31m venture capital fund in partnership with the European Investment Fund (“EIF”), one of the leading venture capital investors in Europe, in July 2006 with a second close in August 2007.

IP Venture Fund commits in the region of 25% of the amount of post-seed financings of IP Group portfolio companies alongside capital committed by external investors, subject to the terms of the fund. The fund has participated in financing rounds for over 25 of the Group’s portfolio companies to date.

In addition to the EIF, IP Venture Fund’s limited partners include Industries Pensionsforsikring A/S, FSP Invest F.M.B.A., afdeling Private Equity, Forsikringsaktieselskabet K.a.B International and the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts (NESTA).
