Melissa has over 15 years of industry experience creating product pipelines and developing commercialisation strategies to start up and grow businesses in polymeric materials, consumer products, medical devices, textiles and apparel segments. She has worked across the full product life cycle spectrum, including patenting and inventing, creating strategic multi-generational product development plans, marketing and rebranding, commercialisation strategy implementation, industry partner licensing and distribution, and exit strategy.
Melissa started her career as a research chemist with E.I. DuPont de Nemours, where she patented and commercialised technology in textile finishes, fashion apparel, and consumer products. After DuPont, she worked for W.L. Gore as a product specialist overseeing product development, manufacturing, regulatory, and sales for a general surgery product. Melissa built a technology commercialisation and strategy company, working with diverse clients in the regenerative medicine medical product sector. Melissa was hired by Kensey Nash and Aimago to redefine corporate growth and product launch strategies, leading them both to successful acquisition by industry leaders. Melissa has a PhD in Polymer Science from The University of Akron, and a B.S. in Chemistry from The University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire.
