Sir Douglas Flint, CBE

Sir Douglas joined the Board of IP Group in September 2018 and took on the role of Chairman in November that year.

Sir Douglas retired as Group Chairman of HSBC Holdings plc on 30th September 2017, having been appointed to that role in December 2010. For fifteen years prior to this he was HSBC’s Group Finance Director, joining from KPMG where he was a partner. Between 2005 and 2011 he was also a Non-Executive Director of BP plc.

Amongst other roles, he is currently Chairman of abrdn plc, Chairman of the Royal Marsden Hospital and Charity, a Director of the Centre for Policy Studies, chairs a Corporate Partnership Board for Cancer Research UK and serves on the Global Advisory Council of Motive Partners, a fintech specialist investment platform and on the International Advisory Council of Hakluyt, the strategic advisory firm.

In June 2006 Mr Flint was honoured with a CBE and in June 2018 received his Knighthood, both awards in recognition of his services to the finance industry.
