Creating a diverse and inclusive working environment is central to IP Group’s culture. We believe that our people are likely to be happier and more engaged if they can be themselves at work.

Our ambition is to be diverse and inclusive across all characteristics. By creating a diverse and inclusive employee group, we believe we will improve the quality of our management and investment decisions, to the benefit of all stakeholders.

We support this through a suite of policies that encourages flexibility and support, as well as a comprehensive range of benefits.

We are proud to have 36% females on our Executive Committee and half of our Board being female. We believe IP Group is the first quoted company in the UK to have appointed ‘employee executives’ to its Executive Committee, aimed at enhancing the quality and diversity of thought brought to the Group’s decision making process.

We continue to place huge importance on the value of inclusion and diversity in all its forms in our team and culture - the success of IP Group depends on the quality of our people across a broad range of disciplines and across our portfolio companies. I have personally sponsored the launch of our ID Project as we have ambitions to be market-leading in this field.

Greg Smith

Chief Executive Officer, IP Group Plc

In 2021 we launched our diversity and inclusion initiative, ‘the ID project’, and have made improvements to our recruitment procedures and rolled out guidelines aimed at encouraging inclusive meetings with a number of new initiatives being delivered including the launch of our Women’s Network.

IP Group is proud to support the 10,000 Black Interns programme and our charity partner, IntoUniversity, which runs a network of learning centres across the UK, helping young people from disadvantaged backgrounds work towards their chosen ambitions.

As Managing Director of IP Group Greater China, I am pleased to bring my international perspective and global capital market experiences to the Group’s decision-making process. I feel the Executive Committee at IP Group values different challenges and is genuinely open to diversity of thought.
