The German company integrates Bumerang’s team, technology, and client portfolio, and prepares to expand into new sectors such as events.

Barcelona, July 10, 2025 – Catalan company Bumerang Takeaway SL, founded in 2020 and specialized in reusable packaging solutions for the foodservice industry, has been officially acquired by German firm VYTAL Global, one of Europe’s leading companies in reusable packaging technology. The acquisition includes Bumerang’s client base, proprietary technology, and the majority of its team, with the goal of accelerating growth in Spain and entering new markets.

A Strategic Alliance to Accelerate Growth in Spain

Since its inception, Bumerang has worked to fight the single use culture through tech-enabled reusable packaging solutions, successfully preventing the generation of tons of single-use packaging waste and contributing to sustainability in the foodservice and takeaway sectors.

Reusable packaging solutions in Spain are still in early stages of development, but their importance is increasing as reflected by the newly formed economic industry association EsReutiliza. The new European legislative framework outlined in the PPWR (Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation) is putting pressure on industries such as foodservice, eCommerce, and beverages to implement reusable packaging solutions.

Expanding tech-enable reuse to Events

With the integration into Vytal, which already operates in several European countries and North America, the offering of tech-enabled reusable packaging solutions is extended to new highpotential sectors in Spain, such as events and QSRs, where reusable packaging unlocks new value pools for event organizers and consumer brands looking to sponsors new forms of consumer engagement. Together with Vytal, the Bumerang team will be able to add new clients from the Event industry onto their current customer base of more than 200 clients in the collective catering sector, including companies like Movistar and Puig, universities such as UEM, and hospitals like Vall d’Hebron.

The majority of Bumerang’s employees will stay in the new structure to ensure service continuity, while the two founders support the transition process before stepping away from operational roles. The company will continue operating as usual under a new legal entity carrying the Vytal brand.
